Global Indians: Volunteering without borders

Experience required for Job: 4 - 30 years
Job Annual Salary: Not Mentioned
Job location: Not Mentioned

Hi,

We want to introduce you to a unique international volunteering program. The program is called iVolunteer overseas (www.ivoindia.org) and it selects professional volunteers from India to work and fight poverty in developing countries of Asia and Africa. This program is run in partnership with VSO, an international development charity that works primarily through volunteers.

Volunteers recruited from India go and work on VSO assignments, which are for 1-2 years. Interestingly, Airfares, medical insurance, stipend, accommodation and grants are provided to the volunteers so that there are no out of pocket expenses for them. The skills needed are Business Management, NGO Management, Livelihoods, Natural Resource Management, HIV and AIDS, Fundraising, Social work and Community Mobilization, Microfinance and Small Business Advice

What makes this program pioneering is that this program recognises the skills that Indians can offer towards global development. So far it’s been only volunteers from the west who have come and volunteered in India and other developing countries. It’s time that Indians become global citizens and contribute not only to global commerce but also global development.

If you can take the time out then do apply to become a VSO volunteer.
Remember, you will work for 40 odd years; it’s time to make 2 of them memorable in every possible way.

And please feel free to forward this email to any person you know who would be interested in volunteering with VSO.

You can send us an email with your current CV or write to us regarding any queries and clarifications at vso@ivolunteer.org.in and we will guide you on how to proceed further.
